EIS is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to work onsite in the Norco, La area. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of mechanical engineering experience, previously worked in a petrochemical / refinery environment and have a keen attention to detail

About the Job 

• Analyze site static equipment performance and respond to plant operational events
• Drive site asset improvement in the areas of: Safety, Reliability, Environmental Performance and Equipment Capability and Efficiency in a team setting 
• Support capital projects and minor modifications in the areas of design consulting, technical quality assurance, and start-up assistance 
• Drive information and drawing improvements 

• Demonstrate and accept personal accountability for quality of work 
• Communicate and interact daily with Inspection, Maintenance, Process, and Operations team members 

Required Skills and Abilities 

• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, B31.3, API 510 & 570 
• Good communicative, resourceful, written and intuitive skills 

• Maintain high ethical standards, while still remaining results-focused 
• Keen attention to detail required

Education and Experience 

• B. S. in Mechanical Engineering required 
• 15 years experience in petrochemical industry as a mechanical static engineer

• Petrochemical or other heavy industry experience preferred 

Physical Requirements: 

• Outside work often requires moderate physical exertion including climbing scaffolding, kneeling, bending, taking field measurements, and walking projects 
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
• Climbing (stairs/ladders) and field visits are required. 

• Exposure to outdoors 
• Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other equipment as required.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
