Human Resource Intern

Engel & Völkers Americas supports a network of premium residential real estate brokerages throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean and is responsible for the firm’s ongoing expansion in additional markets.

We are seeking an HR intern for our Americas headquarters located on Park Avenue in New York City. This position is onsite based out of our NYC headquarters and is an up to 29 hour per week internship role, starting January 1. The HR intern will be a resource to the HR department in helping administer the employee lifecycle and tactical HR. The position will report to the Vice President of People and Culture. This position pays $15 per hour as a paid internship.

Your responsibilities

• Assistant to the VP of People and Culture(HR) in all HR matters
• Works on and completes administrative duties for the organization’s human resources department
• Support internal and external inquiries and requests from the HR department
• Assisting with recruiting tasks and employee onboarding tasks 
• Enter and manage sensitive employee data 
• Ability to keep confidentiality for all sensitive personnel matters
• Analyze current HR processes and assist in creating standard operating procedures
• Assist in developing ideas to enhance company culture, HR policy, communication strategies and employee programs
• Coordinate the new hire orientation and onboarding tasks
• Provide support in the new hire process paperwork, employee records and employee files
• Complete verification of employment tasks 
• Assist in the research and develop talent learning and development strategies

What we are looking for

• Excellent speaking and listening skills
• Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal, relationship building and time management skills
•  Working on or completed a degree or certification with an HR emphasis a plus 
• Ability to manage multiple projects with excellent time management skills
• A creative thinker with excellent organizational skills who enjoys developing, refining and facilitating processes and efficiencies
• Service oriented
