Information System Specialist

• Support and maintain multiple medical software billing systems.
• Maintain billing data tables and fee schedules in multiple systems.
• Respond to user requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Train clinic and business office staff on system software and new workflows.
• Create training materials.
• Run Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Reports and respond to Ad Hoc report requests.
• Close the month on multiple billing systems.
• Manage admin function for insurance websites and create new users as needed.
• Manage billing and ancillary system users and create new users as needed.
• Enroll new ERA and EFT connections with insurance companies for multiple Tax ID numbers.
• Perform daily functions related to ERA download and claim management.
• Troubleshoot system set up issues related to claim formats and ERA set up.
• Open and manage cases with software vendors and work directly with them to resolve problems related to claims, ERAs, and other billing software issues.
• Work directly with multiple clearinghouses to set up or troubleshoot problems.
• Involved in building and implementing multiple medical software billing systems.
• Involved in building, implementing, and troubleshooting additional software related to appointment reminders, portal payments, etc.
• Special Projects or other duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Familiarity with medical billing to include claim requirements, claim fields, ERA and EFT set up, and knowledge of clearinghouse functions.
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD10 codes.
• Intermediate to advanced skills using Excel.
• A self-starter that can work independently and manage issues to completion while keeping interested parties updated.
• Attentive to Detail.
• Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to communicate, and establish and maintain, working relationships with a variety of people.
• Service oriented with a desire for continued improvement.
• Work after hours and on weekends will be required.
• May require working a varied schedule.
• Some travel to clinics required. Other travel may be required.
