Overview

ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP® is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Business Operations team at our Corporate Office located in Newburgh, Indiana. This position is on site.

The Software Engineer is responsible for assisting in the coordination, definition, design, development, testing and deployment of software solutions for ESG. Leveraging the organization’s primary ERP solution, this individual will work with all business units, departments, and the Senior Software Engineer to identify areas for process improvement, assist in the design of solutions to achieve the improvement and work with effected parties to deploy and integrate solutions and/or configurations to realize the expected improvement. The individual will be responsible for carrying out additional solutions either through software upgrades, new functionality, or other independent vendor solutions as determined by the Senior Software Engineer or business partners.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will:

• Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including coding, testing, debugging, and installing to support an organization's application systems
• Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives
• Designs, develops, implements, and maintains business solutions
• Assists IT staff to ensure functions of ERP system effectively work with all other integrated applications and operating systems
• Coordinates with other business functions to identify potential opportunities to facilitate organizational improvement and success
• Reviews, analyzes, and modifies the programming systems including encoding, testing, and debugging to support an organization's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications
• Leverages troubleshooting skills to resolve technical problems
• Participates in the design, implementation, testing and deployment of all ERP system components and applications

Qualifications

Your background includes:

• Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Demonstrated history of successful software development using an industry standard systems development lifecycle
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with all levels and types of people
• Responsible to be highly organized and work independently, seek new assignments, work on multiple priorities
• Familiarity with databases and database design
• Proficiency in a high-level programming language and with source control and its concepts
• Ability to design creative solutions to complex problems on their own
• Proficiency with software engineering tools
