Job Summary
Encino Energy is seeking to hire a Data Analyst to be part of the Corporate Engineering (CE) team that reports to the Chief Technical Office, CTO. The CE group is part of the broader technical umbrella of the company (along with Data Analytics and Development (DAD), Sub-surface and IT Departments). This role will support the enterprise data needs for all Corporate Engineering projects. This individual will partner with DAD group and IT stakeholders to design and implement enterprise data solutions. The role will focus on maturing integrated data platforms and providing support for Reporting & Analytics, Business Intelligence, and process automation efforts.
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively design, develop and implement innovative full-stack scalable data and analytics solutions to solve high impact business and engineering problems
- Streamline and maintain current business processes and engineering workflows
- Work with the team to recommend and implement efficient solutions to different business and engineering needs related to data processing, visualization and/or automation
- Advise on data interactions and data interdependencies between different applications
- Partner with Data Analysts on data design, alignment with data standards and integration efforts among different existing tools
- Advise on best practices for data visualization, data discovery, and data management technology
- Lead the design and development of basic tools and/or applications to support accuracy, repeatability and integrity of Corporate engineering projects and processes
- Assist with data quality, sourcing and processing through different applications and tools
- Perform frequent reviews and analysis of current processes and data sources to maintain and find opportunities for improvement
- Create and maintain informative, actionable, and repeatable reports
- Conduct insightful ad hoc analyses to investigate operational or data issues in current applications and workflows
- Apply architectural rigor to applications, databases, and processes
- Assist the engineering team with the review and analysis of big datasets
- Assist with building and running economic/financial models to support Corporate engineering projects related to engineering analysis such as, audits, reserves and company lookback, among others
Requirements
Qualifications
- Proficiency with common data visualization tools such as Tibco Spotfire, Jaspersoft, Microsoft SSRS
- Proficiency with programming languages such as R or Python
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development
- Detail oriented, analytical, and inquisitive
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
- Understanding of Enterprise Architecture principals and willingness to learn rigorous modeling methodologies
- Basic working knowledge in Cloud Database technologies such as Snowflake, Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure
- Basic working knowledge using Landmark ARIES economic package
- Basic knowledge on the following additional applications:
o DrillingInfo
o IHS
o Arcview
o Geo mapping (Geographix, PETRA, etc)
o Alteryx
- Skills and experienced with: software design, analysis, teamwork, software maintenance, process improvement, big picture thinking, work well under pressure, communication, problem solving, relationship building, critical thinking
Education
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field of study required.
A minimum of three years of experience with systems required.
Relocation
This position is not eligible for domestic relocation.
Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel anticipated for this position is 10 – 15%, including overnight extended stays.
Work Environment
This job is predominately located in a professional office environment with occasional travel to the field operations.
Work Schedule
Encino has a compressed work week with a “4/9/4” Work Schedule. Employees have the option to work four nine-hour days with the addition of four hours each Friday. Some flexibility in hours is allowed. The selected candidate is expected to work in the office three days a week (Monday – Wednesday) with the option to work remote two days a week.
