Enabled Energy is Hiring a Controller Near Littleton, CO

Job Summary:

As part of the Central Services Team, the Controller is responsible for providing for all Finance, HR, and Administrative activities for the company. These varied tasks support the entire company. The role over sees all financial, administrative, and talent activities and requires communication internally and externally to determine needs, expectations and foster an exchange of ideas. The ideal candidate will have a mastery of accounting, human resources, communication, and organization skills. This position is full time and located at the main office for Enabled Energy (EE) in Littleton, CO.

Responsibilities:

In this role, the responsibilities of the Controller include:

Essential Job Functions

FINANCE

  • Close out the books each month and complete required reports and spreadsheets for management.
  • Use project-based accounting methods to report on accrued revenue on a per project basis.
  • Run bi-weekly payroll and track pay rate changes and benefit deductions.
  • Manage cashflow on an ongoing basis.
  • With management’s guidance, create an annual budget and report monthly on actuals vs. budget.
  • Maintain a relationship with Enabled Energy’s CPA and work with him/her on annual tax planning.
  • Update financial forecasts monthly and advise Leadership on possible future outcomes.
  • Maintain banking and lender relationships.
  • File sales tax returns, personal property tax returns, and other required state and local tax returns as needed.
  • Issue W-2 and 1099 documents as required on an annual basis.
  • Manage all accounts receivable and accounts payable activity in QuickBooks Online.
  • Manage Enabled Energy’s credit card account.
  • Administer expense report platform.

TALENT

  • Manage the recruiting, hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Maintain employee records and administer BambooHR.
  • Oversee the bi-annual review process.
  • Oversee employee benefits – includes research, implementation and maintenance (health, dental, 401k, profit sharing, etc.).
  • Advise and maintain compensation (base and commissions) and bonus plans.
  • Administer employee accounts on safety training website and work with Safety Team to promote a safe working environment throughout the company.
  • Keep employee handbook up to date.
  • Administer worker’s compensation documentation in case of injury; maintain OSHA logs annually.

IT

  • Manage Greystone relationship (including requirements and performance evaluation).
  • Maintain SharePoint/Teams/Portal.
  • Manage Hardware (e.g. computers, etc) and Software with Greystone assistance.
  • Research and recommend improvements.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATION

  • Administer paperwork for vendors and customers (Onboarding, MSA, etcs).
  • Administer Concur Travel.
  • Order office supplies.
  • Work with Legal to set up licenses in new states and file the required quarterly and annual reports for existing registrations.
  • Assist in day to day needs as requested by Enabled Energy employees.
  • Assist with planning and organizing team meetings.
  • Ensure subcontractors comply with insurance requirements and maintain COIs. Perform annual insurance audit(s) as required.
  • Collect and maintain diversity information from contractors and vendors; complete administrative paperwork as needed.

CULTURE 

  • Understand and adopt EE’s mission and cultural initiatives described in the attached EE Mission Statement.
  • Maintain a culture where service (internal and external) is central to all activities – the company knows it and benefits from it.
  • Write, present, and own team and personal goals.
  • Be a team member working towards common company STRAP goals.

Non-Essential (Marginal) Job Functions

  • Answer Enabled Energy’s main phone line.
  • Attend company team-building events in person.
  • Attend team and client meetings with live video.
  • Maintain contact with team members via mobile text/chat.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • At least 2 years of experience with QuickBooks Online required
  • At least 2 years of human resources/talent experience 
  • At least 2 years of bookkeeping and/or small business accounting experience
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams experience preferred
  • Experience with BambooHR, Concur, Smartsheets, or Monday.com is a plus
  • Notary Public license is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curious, self-starting, can-do problem solver 
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Customer service experience
  • This is a full-time, in-person position at Enabled Energy’s office in Littleton, CO
