Job Duties

  • Understand each customer’s key strategic goals and overall plan to incorporate PV and BESS solutions. Coordinate data and information collection and provide to Sales Operations; understand client’s drivers for investment and their return on investment; provide input on presentation materials and deliverables for key customers to better present long-term sales strategies.
  • Partner with Sales Operations, Analytics, and Pre-Construction to ensure client deliverables are met in a tactical and time-sensitive manner.
  • Provide guidance and management to the Company’s Business Development representatives.
  • Develop and manage staffing related to proposals, collateral, and outbound marketing (Sales Ops).
  • Help develop and foster key relationships and sales strategy within the three key sales channels: (1) EPC Services; (2) Co-Development Opportunities; and (3) Development Opportunities
  • Help develop an outreach strategy across the current customer base along with the broader industry to help drive awareness to BayWa r.e. Power Solutions offerings.
  • Partner with marketing to create relevant content and drive customer focused materials.
  • Collaborate with O&M to drive long term success and increase enterprise customer value and retention.
  • Help define and drive the decisions to pursue and invest resources in specific key customer relationships and geographies.
  • Develop and manage in a team environment the business strategy for each key client.
  • Help refine the customer deliverables and presentation materials, including but not limited to PowerPoint Slide Decks, proposals, energy advisory follow-up, production results, etc.
  • Help prioritize and develop internal and external marketing initiatives.
  • Support the other Directors of Business Development in their direct customer relationship management.
  • Define the lifecycle of key customer opportunities through initial customer touchpoints to opportunity win stages, identifying and setting timelines and criteria for key deliverables. Set requirements for a tailored approach to provide long-term value to the customers and communicate those requirements to Sales Operations.
  • Find ways to deeply understand customers’ objectives and become their trusted energy advisor.
  • Proactively identify customer engagement, reporting on key successes and potential customer risks.
  • Collaborate across the organization to manage customer escalations and methodical approaches toward resolution.
  • Help with forecasting of opportunities for key accounts.
  • Develop and manage KPI’s related to customer and business development performance.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, environmental studies, or related program preferred
  • 5 years of sales and customer management experience in the renewable energy industry
  • Knowledge of solar; experience running analysis on PV and BESS Systems
  • Ability to determine work priorities and review work for quality and production standards
  • Must be highly motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work both with a team and independently
  • Must excel in customer service and data analysis
  • Excellent word processing, writing, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite products

Desired Skills & Abilities:

  • Maintain a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to determine work priorities and review work for quality and production standards
  • Must be highly motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work both with a team and independently
  • Must excel in customer service and data analysis
  • Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Must excel with multi-tasking, problem-solving, written, and communication skills

Physical Demands:

  • Sit or stand at a desk for 6-8 hours per day performing tasks on a computer
  • Requires minimal physical effort with periods of walking and standing with light lifting of files
  • Minimal bending, stooping, or reaching
  • Occasionally exposure to environmental elements during remote visits
