JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Work with fellows and their family members participating in the Mild Cognitive Impairment Empowerment Program (MCIEP) to trouble shoot difficulties operating technologies, devices, and applications such as smart phones, electronic assistants, pill reminders, activity monitors, tablets, and more.
  • Works with the occupational therapy staff to develop templates to support the use of common devices.
  • Tracks, summarizes and reports the requests coming from fellows to identify technology gaps and needs for further development.
  • Provide group training sessions on a regular basis to support skill development and retention for fellows.
  • Learn how to operate and trouble shoot new devices introduced by technology core.
  • Maintain an inventory of demonstration technologies for training fellows and allow them to test out functionality before making a purchasing decision.
  • Conduct interviews, develop agile training and templates. Supervise MCI Empowerment Program IT personnel including specialists, students and others. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of technology experience or five years of information technology experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Instructional-based technology software and hardware knowledge preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mac and Windows Certified Technician, basic understanding of Audio/Visual (A/V) Equiptment, experience with mobile iOS applications and smart home technologies, experience working with and/or ability to connect with Mild Cognitive Impairment population and previous Brain Health experience a plus.
  • Experience assisting in the successful use of Zoom and MS Teams for online meetings, video conferences.
  • Experience working with and/or ability to connect with people experiencing cognitive impairment.

NOTE: Tasks related to this position can be performed remotely with only occasional supported visits to an Emory University location. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
