I'm Daniel Baker, and I lead the LED sales team for Emerson's Appleton Group business unit. As a Business Development Manager , you'll serve as a key member of our global sales team, supporting our efforts to increase sales in the water/ wastewater vertical. We're a team that supports one another, learns from one another, and grows together! Come join the team!
This opportunity is fully remote with 70% travel annually, within the US and Canada.
As a Business Development Manager, You Will:
- Carry out Sales Development to achieve the sales growth plan for Appleton Products in the Water/Waste-Water Management segment
- Manage and grow segment sales for the Appleton products within targeted water/wastewater key accounts in the Americas.
- Engage with strategic targets that promote growth within key water/wastewater accounts.
- Develop relationships at all levels within the target water/wastewater accounts, including C suite
- Acquire deep understanding of the target customer, their goals/KPIs and specify Emerson technologies which provide solutions to achieve.
- Document via CRM or Emerson account management documentation, account details, personnel and organization makeup within target accounts.
- Identify key collaborators within the target accounts organization, who will have influence on a developing opportunity
- Hold a strategic view of the target customer base and clearly identify next steps for each developing opportunity
Who you are:
- You work through formal and informal channels to build broad-based relationships and support
- You pick up on the need to change personal, interpersonal, and leadership behavior quickly
- You find common ground and acceptable alternatives that satisfy the needs of multiple partners
- You maintain a positive demeanor and forward-thinking approach despite troubling circumstances or setbacks
Required education, experience, and skills:
- Engineering Degree or other Sales/Marketing equivalent experience preferred
- 3 years' experience in water/wastewater related business development or water/wastewater customer development experience, marketing or sales positions
- Reside within one hour of a major airport
Preferred education, experience, and skills:
- 3 Years of experience as a Key Account Manager, ideally within the Water & wastewater industry
Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to this role.
