Works in concert with the Administrator and directs the nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State, and standards, guidelines and regulations. In absence of the Administrator, assumes the responsibility for center operations. The position conducts the nursing process – assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation – under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse Licensure.

Attends and participates in scheduled in-service training, educational classes, and meetings to maintain current certifications and as managed by regulatory agencies and company policies.Participates in QAA program

Role model for the company, Drives ongoing QAA process, oversees milestone plans for performance improvement, and monitors clinical trends and outcomes Uses TSI reports, CMS reports, current survey status and clinical outcomes to monitor clinical progress monthly Communicates care delivery trends, issues and opportunities to administration, medical director, and the Quality Assurance Committee Anticipates customers’ needs and works to minimize potential problems Participates in and promotes patients’ rights and customer service programs Ensures staff ability to effectively utilize the compliment/ complaint process Supports, promotes, and consistently utilizes the QAA process Ensures ethical care delivery with adherence to corporate compliance and safe business practices Understands and promotes the Federal, State, and company position on Abuse and Neglect prevention Understands federal and state survey enforcement practice and to maintain compliance; educates staff Collaborates with Medical Director to assure physician compliance with all federal, State, and standards, policies, procedures and guidelines Ensures staff comprehension and compliance with the Documentation Principles and Guidelines.

Five years in long term or acute health care preferred
Physical Demands
Lifting 35 lbs. frequently and occasionally lifting 50 lbs. maximum. Talking, hearing and seeing. Working a 12 hours shift when needed.
