Ellume is Hiring a Commercial Finance Manager Near Frederick, MD

The Commercial Finance Manager will operate as the primary financial business partner with the USA Sales & Business Development Teams to drive business performance through the provision of deep financial / commercial expertise and insights and to own the delivery of financial targets, as established by the US Senior Leadership team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute aspects of finance planning, performance management and related financial decisions supporting such activities as; Strategic Planning and Annual Contract planning/forecasting, target development, financial performance reporting/analysis, and financial modelling.
  • Using the approved US financial plan as the basis, create financial metrics for the Sales and Business Development teams to focus on key objectives, such as a Profit and Loss (P&L) at a customer and aggregate level.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of critical financial data and insight that enable perspectives for Senior Management and Finance leadership to deploy effective business strategies and decisions
  • Ensure a strong controls and compliance environment in your area of scope and ensure full compliance with company policies, US GAAP reporting guidance and SOX compliance expectations.
  • Lead projects to promote efficiencies and improvements to ways of working and embrace a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Promote effective financial and operational business acumen as well as understanding of the consumer-packaged goods industry, leveraging relevant experience in a global or national CPG firm whose channels include key national retailers.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills that enable successful partnering and communications across large cross-functional teams throughout the United States and Australia.
  • Provide a growth mindset in identifying and communicating all critical business opportunities, risks and initiatives, providing best practice financial analysis and insights to support decision making as required.
  • Show integrity and sound judgement in all decisions and interactions aligned with our values, policies, and external regulations.

Work Experience and Skills

Essential Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of Finance management experience, preferably supporting Sales and Business Development team activities.
  • Experience with pricing, business modelling exercises incorporating ROI and other financial metrics, problem analysis and resolution.
  • Strong financial and operational business acumen.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, deal with ambiguity and provide innovative decision making.
  • Quickly able to understand the fundamentals of what drives the business, can hit the ground running and identify opportunities to ‘add value’ and accelerate business growth.
  • Highly motivated and energetic.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience operating within an ERP platform to pull relevant data for financial analysis.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding leadership skills.
  • Strong team player who manages collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, and the ability to lead teams.
  • Experience in assisting in the development, introduction and compliance of internal controls as it relates to company policies, US GAAP and SOX compliance.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Prior Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience preferred.

Education and Certification

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

Desirable Qualifications:

  • MBA qualification highly regarded
