Reports To: EVP – Supply Chain and R&D

The leader of Supply Chain directs both strategic and tactical activities of the overall planning functions inclusive of demand forecasting, scheduling, supply planning, purchasing, distribution, logistics, S&OP and S&OE for all regions. This role leads the overall supply chain and development of planning strategies and implements appropriate processes to manage supply plans, product availability, distribution, and inventory levels to fulfill sales demand, customer service metrics and optimize costs. Monitors performance, identifies and implements action plans to insure that forecast accuracy, inventory, and customer service targets are achieved.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency, cost, and quality across the organization.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, and logistics providers to ensure favorable terms and reliable supply of materials and services.
  • Lead the integration of supply chain processes with other business functions, such as sales, marketing, finance, and production, to align objectives and enhance overall operational performance.
  • Implement advanced analytics and supply chain management tools to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Coordinate risk management efforts across the supply chain, including the development of contingency plans to mitigate the impact of disruptions, shortages, or other unforeseen challenges.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the supply chain team, encouraging innovation, professional development, and collaboration to achieve strategic goals.
  • Manage inbound/outbound logistics domestically and internationally.
  • Lead the demand and supply planning teams through all aspects of product planning including forecast development and maintenance utilizing internal and external demand analytics, inventory balance targets, safety stock and purchasing strategies:
    • The demand planning team creates item specific forecasts over a rolling time horizon used for ordering, manufacturing, inventory management and financial forecasting purposes. The forecast is developed by integrating sales order history, replenishment or POS data, sales promotion information, marketing plans, new distribution and product deletion decisions as well as statistical modeling.
    • The supply planning team manages purchase orders and forecast requirements to suppliers and manufacturing facilities based on demand forecasts. Develop planning parameters to replenish inventories to meet customer service objectives, while at the same time supporting the company inventory turn and days of supply target. Work closely with the new product development team, marketing, sourcing, manufacturing, and forecasting to ensure new products are available in sufficient quantities and quality to support new product launches. Familiarity with third party vendor’s capacities to understand their scheduling of production. Facilitate inventory reduction targets for E&O.
  • Accountable for key metrics of Forecast Accuracy, Forecast Attainment, Inventory $$s and days on hand, Fill Rate, E&O, SKU rationalization and supply chain costs.
  • Drives continuous improvement in results, processes and team capabilities.
  • Lead and enhance the S&OP and S&OE capabilities by driving alignment between various business functions. Facilitate the monthly S&OP and S&OE processes and meeting cadence to ensure cross-functional business plans (sales, marketing, operations, planning, customer service, new products and finance) are synchronized in future periods and key disconnects are highlighted and resolved.
    • Work cross-functionally and bring functional groups together to execute business strategies, identify risks and opportunities to Plan, offer creative solutions to minimize risk to retail stock and fill rates at key customers while optimizing inventory.
    • Collaborate with the commercial teams on evaluation and implementation of external tools to maximize effectiveness of customer level forecasts and supply plans.
    • Act as designer, owner and active leader in the S&OP process implementation and expansion.
    • Serve as focal point for communication both up and down stream to ensure understanding and alignment throughout the organization.
    • Provide proactive and regular updates on issues related to out-of-stock items, service issues, supplier issues, production schedule adherence, order issues, inventory metrics, and other related issues.
  • Provide inputs to annual operating and purchasing plan of the business. Monitor and adjust plan as required as business needs change. Responsible for projecting and maintaining inventory levels per corporate commitments while minimizing Excess & Obsolete.
    • Review and make informed decisions on supply chain planning policies (e.g. replenishment strategies, inventory days on hand and/or safety stock strategies).
    • Analyze and update forecasts, production and inventory plan weekly based on demand, output and planned customer service level changes.
  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of all distribution and logistics activities.
  • Manage domestic and international freight movements, warehousing, and all transportation logistics.
  • Develop cost-reducing initiatives and optimize distribution processes to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of products to customers.
  • Oversee the design, development, implementation, and management of logistics solutions.
  • Direct the activities of company Distribution Centers and Logistics globally.
  • Implement programs and procedures to increase productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and drive the strategic and operational processes of the distribution centers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations or Business
  • 15 years of experience in a highly analytical supply chain management – minimum 10 years in senior leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing complex supply chain teams.
  • Experienced in strategic planning, forecasting, distribution/logistics and budgeting.
  • Highly skilled communicator with proven ability to communicate complex analytical conclusions simply and succinctly; influence or persuade others through oral and written presentations in positive or negative circumstances; listen well.
  • Proven business management experience working across organization and varying levels of leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency with SAP ECC, SAP BI/PBI, SAP IBP DP and IO, and Microsoft products Excel and Power Point.
