Description

The Project Accountant will be a key team member driving process and system improvements working closely with various levels of management to ensure accurate project reporting. This position will be an important member of ERP support team.

The successful candidate will have in-depth experience utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning systems to drive significant upgrades to the financial and operating activities of the organization.

Requirements

Accountability and Duties:

•  Project set-up and contract maintenance
•  Monitor project budgets and work with Project Managers (PM) to ensure accuracy and up to date
•  Monitor project start and end dates working with PM’s to keep updated
•  Review expenses and labor for accuracy at project and phase levels
•  Monitor Unbilled aging and work with PM’s to resolve as applicable
•  Run the weekly labor distribution process
•  Maintain billing rates and ensure employee billing rates are accurate and up to date
•  Run the revenue recognition process and reconcile to ensure accuracy
•  Manage and process project billing
•  Monitor AR and assist with collections
•  Generate monthly client statements
•  Interface with internal team to drive better understanding of project financial results
•  Monitor project dashboards for accuracy
•  Work with the Controller on maintaining standard rates and overhead rates
•  Perform financial planning and analysis projects
•  Participate in ERP process improvement and software update projects
•  Ensure all accounting is done to policy and/or make policy change/improvement recommendations
•  Document Processes
•  Other duties as assigned by the Controller and CFO

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance or accounting from an accredited four-year college or university.

Qualification Requirements:

• Minimum four years of related experience, preferably with construction or consulting services
• Knowledge of Percentage of Completion accounting

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge and experience in corporate finance and accounting
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS office and ERP systems ideally InFocus/Unanet.
• Must be fluent in the English language.
