Not all individuals need the benefits employers have to offer, Waterville now offers a Non-Benefit rate for those who may not need health insurance, PTO, etc. A laundry aide, who agrees to work at least 22.5 hours per week and opts in the pay in lieu of benefits program is eligible to receive the following rates based on experience:

0-4 years 5 years

 $15.44 $16.38

In addition, the laundry aides are eligible to receive shift differentials:

Duties and Responsibilities:

·Label and document al clothing, blankets, coats, etc.

·Pick up soiled laundry from all floors

·Ensure personal protective equipment to be used as appropriate/required:gowns, gloves, masks

·Inspect laundry for stains and fabrics that require special cart

·Sort laundry to be cleaned by fabric type, color, and cleaning technique

·Load laundry into washers and add proper chemicals

·Remove clean laundry and place into dryers with proper heat setting

·Remove dry laundry from dryers, sort, fold, hang clothing and other articles by room number/resident

·Separate linen carts will be used for transporting soiled and clean laundry

·All residents clean clothing to be delivered back to the residents room

·All contaminated laundry that is red bagged will be laundered and disinfected separately using the proper chemicals

·All lint traps are to be cleaned daily and logged

·Clean and maintain laundry room and machines daily

·Maintain safety and patient safety

·Report all damaged equipment, linens and residents clothing to manager
