Element Materials Technology is Hiring an Associate Chemist Near Milwaukie, OR

Schedule: 1st or 2nd shift position: we offer a shift differential of $1/hr for 2nd shift

Salary: Min Starting $20/hr

Responsibilities

  • Analyze various metal alloys, manual handling of samples
  • Operation of equipment such as Gas Analyzers, OES, XRF
  • Managing the calibration of glass wares and the instruments and maintenance, cleaning and checking of equipment
  • Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
  • Coordinating with the other technicians in the team to carry out work as per the planning schedule
  • Generating test reports for clients (data entry, quality assurance)

This is a fast-paced environment, and we need someone who is proactive, self-motivated and a team player. The person for this role will be a specialist in their field, respected by all who they work with, keen to learn and enthusiastic in the face of challenge. You will need :

  • Have a diploma / a degree in chemistry is advantageous
  • Have the ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to work different working hours (night / day) shifts if required or necessary
  • Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking
  • Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment and operating in an independent / chemistry / consultant laboratory
