We are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator located in our Orlando office who reports directly to the Purchasing Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the procurement of a variety of technology, materials, and other services in accordance with our standards, policies, and applicable legal requirements. What will you be doing?

Vendor Management

  1. Evaluate, maintain and improve on existing supplier relationships

  2. Research and interview potential suppliers

  3. Ensure all vendors are qualified

  4. Ensure proper documentation and contact details are provided

  5. Participate in vendor audits

Negotiation/Pricing

  1. Solicit price quotations of goods and services

  2. Negotiate pricing, delivery and optimal terms

  3. Work within Operations, Sales and Design teams to ensure quality with respect to pricing

  4. Review quotes and contracts to assess and manage risk

Purchasing

  1. Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirement documentation

  2. Prepare and place purchase orders; minimize costs, ensure timely delivery

  3. Administer vendor selection process while working closely with those requesting the equipment, parts or services and emphasizing quality

  4. Ensure necessary warranties are in place for specified equipment

  5. Investigate and resolve discrepant receipts and invoices

  6. Process returns and ensure proper credits are given

  7. Administer, maintain and develop reporting strategies using accounting software and programs

  8. Perform other activities and responsibilities as directed and needed

What Experience, Skills, and Attributes will you need to be successful?

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  2. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills

  3. Ability to interface well with partners, vendors and team members

  4. Capability to prioritize and manage multiple, simultaneous activities

  5. Proficient with computers and standard office programs (e.g. Windows, Excel, Word)

  6. Knowledge and understanding of accounting software (NAV20165) is preferred

  7. Any experience with logistics, engineering &/or project management is a plus

  8. Desire to enhance and improve existing procedures within the department for overall use

  9. Integrity, good judgment, and the ability to protect commercially sensitive information

What qualifications are required?

  1. 3-5 years experience in purchasing or a related role

  2. AA degree with an emphasis in business, engineering, design, or liberal arts

  3. Background in warehouse operations and logistics, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory

  4. Must be organized, able to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment
