We're hiring in our Drafting/Home Design Department

Eldridge Lumberyard is a family and locally-owned business specializing in custom home design, cabinetry, and quality building materials for the Quad City and surrounding areas. Our company has been well-known in the community for its quality products and customer service for years, and Eldridge Lumberyard's long-standing reputation for the best products in the industry and invaluable builder services still holds true today.

We are hiring a full-time draftsman in our custom home design department. Experience and building knowledge is preferred, but this is a trainable position for the right candidate. The job consists of the following tasks:

● Designing and drawing custom homes, additions and remodels, light commercial

buildings, and agricultural buildings on Softplan

● Meeting and communicating with clients frequently about their plans and building

projects.

● Estimating and knowledge of necessary building materials needed for a project.

● Staying organized, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines on time.

Key Skills:

● Ability to visualize and be creative, while being able to communicate your ideas with the

client

● Accuracy and attention to detail is imperative for this position

● Excellent communication and organizational skills

● Strong math skills

● Construction knowledge or prior experience is a plus

● Knowledge of Softplan or other CAD products is preferred

● Knowledge of Microsoft products and Google Drive

● General IT skills are also a plus

This position is a full-time, salary-paid position based on experience. Hours are Monday-Friday 7:30-5:00. Paid vacation, personal days, and company-sponsored 401k plan after one year of employment.
