Responsibilities

Assistant Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA)

  • Responsible for assisting in implementation and monitoring of the facility Quality Assurance Program
  • Reports any significant quality assurance concerns to the Administrator immediately.
  • Provides oversight of the facility department managers at the discretion of the Administrator
  • Attends QAPI (Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement) and Quality Assurance & Review Meetings.
  • Accountable for administrative responsibilities, during the absence of the Administrator, within the facility.
  • Participates in job training and development program through the Elderwood organization.
  • Assumes administrative responsibility for departments who do not have a department head on a temporary basis.
  • May assume responsibilities for other selected departments from time to time with the approval of the Administrator.
  • Generate and develop ideas, which improve the quality of care for residents or increase job productivity and satisfaction. Encourage involvement and recognize staff for making exceptional contributions.
  • Assures that all staff exhibit the highest level of customer service towards residents, families, visitors and coworkers.

Qualifications

Assistant Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA)

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a major in health or related field, necessary. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Newly licensed Administrator or current Administrator-in-Training, or currently enrolled in an accredited heath care administration program preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in management, preferably in a health care setting, required. Long-term care experience strongly preferred.
  • Qualities of leadership, dependability, integrity and organizational ability.
  • Management skills to supervise staff and carry out assigned functions.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to relate well with staff at all levels.
  • An interest in the field of health care, particularly in the needs of the geriatric population.
