We are looking for a Director of Nursing that is excited about long-term care and ready to be part of a great team!

• Caring for our elderly population in their golden years must be a passion for the person that works in the Director of Nursing Position at the ElderCare of Bemidji long-term care building. 
• Recognizing that this person will be the leader of this nursing department, an ability to invest in employees that would be reporting to him/her is vital to ensure that the care the residents are receiving is exceptional care.
• In this position, the Director of Nursing at Havenwood Care Center is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, directing, analyzing, staffing, implementing, and evaluating the nursing services of the department, as well as supervising members of the nursing team in order to provide effective nursing services that meet practice and quality standards. 
• The Director of Nursing also needs to be able to relate professionally, positively and cooperatively with residents, families and co-workers of all levels. The Director of Nursing assures facilities policies and procedures are current and followed as well as in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in the state of MN.
• We are looking for someone that has a desire to work with seniors, is compassionate, patient, reliable, self-motivated and has good communication skills with residents and families. We are seeking someone that can carefully explain medical needs/changes related to resident’s care as well as advocate for the proper services to be provided.
• The Director of Nursing needs to be able to relate professionally with residents, staff and family members along with displaying a positive work attitude and be able to work as a team with other staff members along with leading and directing them at the same time. When things get tough, the Director of Nursing needs to be able to lead through this in a positive and efficient way. He/she needs to be able to work effectively with minimal supervision but yet still needs to be able to reach out for support and utilize resources as needed to ensure state competencies are being completed. The Director of Nursing will also be in constant communication with the nursing home administrator through daily meetings, updates, etc. 
• The Director of Nursing and Nursing Home Administrator will need to be able to work collaboratively on changes, projects, and issues as they arise. Some travel required to Care Providers of Minnesota, regional meetings, etc.

Experience: Experience working as an RN in long-term care favored along with previous experience as a Director of Nursing (DON). However, we are willing to assist in training, educating and supporting you if this is something you feel that at this point in your career you would like to pursue. We would love to work with you!!

Shift: Days, Monday – Friday; Works weekends and holidays as necessary. The Director of Nursing will make quarterly visits to all shifts. On – call status 24/7 as needed.
