El Rio Community Health Center is Hiring an Accounting Manager Near Tucson, AZ

JOB PURPOSE: The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing personnel in the accounting department to support with departmental initiatives. The Accounting Manger will prepare complex accounting analysis and reconciliations to support general ledger input, and may lead specialized functions such as budgeting, reporting, or special accounting applications. This role also serves as a consultant for managers within the organization, advising them of current budgetary information and working with leadership to create a fiscal strategy that aligns with the financial goals of the organization. The primary goal of the El Rio Community Health Center Accounting Manager is to support El Rio’s Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions. The following functions and responsibilities will contribute to El Rio Community Health Center to achieve its KEY RESULTS: World Class Experience for staff and patientsHealthier patients and employeesPositive Financial Result Essential Job Functions: Responsible for supervising and managing accounting philosophies and procedures that align with the organizations financial goalsPrepares complex financial reconciliations and analysis, and acts as a technical resource and liaison to department managers, coworkers, on system and financial issuesResearches and corrects errors in general ledgerInterfaces with management including department leaders to assist with financial data gathering, disseminating, and/or interpretation in order to ensure accuracy of financial informationProvides financial modeling resources to special projects assigned to the department by management for analysis, and educates users of the assigned financial reporting system in the preparation and use of reportsPrepares timely and accurate reports and presentations for state and federal agencies, management, and auditors to satisfy mandated reporting requirements policy, law, or management needsMaintains accurate statistical, contractual, and other financial databases; as assigned Audit the work of the accounting departmentAdvises management on matters of fiscal procedure an importance of the organizationEngages in critical and confidential aspects of accountingEnsures compliance with the financial procedures of the organizationMonitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracySupports Controller with special projects and workflow process improvementMeets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing annual budget; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actionsParticipates in staff recruitment, selection, orienting and training of new staff membersDevelops and coaches assigned staff by communicating job expectations, conducting training, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducts annual appraisals and reviews. Additional functions, duties, tasks, or requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate to meet organizational operations. The essential job functions and responsibilities align with El Rio Community Health Center’s Cultural Beliefs: Minimum Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or universityFive (5) years’ experience in health care finance which includes experience in financial statement preparation and analysisThree (3) years’ experience in an accounting leadership or supervisory role Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited universityCPA and/or audit experienceAdvanced computer skills on MS Excel including but not limited to Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, formulas and graphing, accounting software and relational databases.Advanced budgeting, financial forecasting and financial analysis skills High attention to detail and accuracyStrong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:None Core Competencies: Financial ManagementPerformance ManagementEthical ConductThoroughnessBudget DevelopmentFinancial Business AcumenAnalysis/Problem SolvingStaff Training and Development Supervisory Duties: The accounting manager manages accountants and support staff in the accounting department, and will be responsible for the performance management and will be an active participant in the selection and hiring of the accountants and support staff within the department. Language Skills:Ability to listen, communicate, and interact with a wide range of diverse individuals and personalities in a professional manner at all times Advanced and effective public speaking skills; ability to speak professionally and effectively in formal and informal settings before large and small groups of employees, as well as internal/external clients or representatives in both formal and informal settings Computer/Mathematical Skills:Knowledgeable in computer applications and office desktop software (Excel, Power point, Word, Outlook) Advanced skills in successfully operating computer equipment and general software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, database programs, as well basic understanding and skill working with enterprise software programsAbility and skill in correctly applying advanced mathematical and algebraic calculations or statistical analysis concepts to all work processing Other Skills and Abilities: Advances skills in conducting research, analysis, reconciliation, and the ability to apply finance theories to problem solve.
