Description

The staff accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Participate in the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process
• Prepare monthly journal entries as assigned and maintain supporting documentation
• Perform detailed and accurate monthly account reconciliations, roll forwards and account analysis including, but not limited to, allocations, prepaid expense, prepaid inventory, concur expenses, prepaid insurance, and accrued liabilities
• Promptly post accounts payable wires and ACH/Online payments and update wire template log
• Provide back-up support for accounts payable function including, but not limited to, reconciliation of supplier account statements, invoice matching/coding and entry, filing and payment processing.
• Collaborate with purchasing/receiving department, QC, suppliers and AP specialist to resolve invoice payment exceptions/holds
• Assist with physical inventory count audits
• Assist with year-end 1099 reporting and filing
• Assist with external audits by providing supporting documentation as requested
• Assist the Controller with special projects and other tasks as needed and as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

• Should have at least 1-2 years’ experience in financial accounting.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Confidentiality, dependability and integrity are essential
• Self-motivated and able to adapt to change
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and deadlines
• Ability to efficiently process accounting information to ensure data integrity and accurate reporting
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel (to include vlookups and pivot tables)
