SUMMARY OF THE POSTION
The Chief Development Officer will report directly to the CEO of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute and serve as a key member of the leadership team. The incumbent will provide leadership, direction, and coordination for institutional fundraising goals and the development of a strategic advancement plan including identifying and securing individual donors, corporate, foundation, and Federal and State grantors. The Chief Development Officer will also work closely with the CEO and the Board of Directors in developing key, external alliances by cultivating individual and philanthropic support. They will be primarily responsible for building and strengthening the development team to obtain funding goals established by the Edward M. Kennedy Institute.

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent record of professional achievement and qualifications with a demonstrated track record of success.

The physical demands and work environment described for this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Duties are performed indoors in an office/workstation environment. Duties may require extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and long periods of computer viewing. The job may also require periods of pulling/pushing items, lifting and carrying items, stooping, and kneeling. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
