EDUCATORS CREDIT UNION is Hiring a Business Development Specialist Near Mount Pleasant, WI

Role:

Perform support for the Business Loan department, including support which facilitates and safeguards the business lending function. Assist in the development of new business relationships with prospective members and increasing business with present members

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze borrower financial statements used by business development officers and for annual loan reviews; request required statements from members when needed. Track, follow up on, and maintain ongoing critical loan servicing items, including but not limited to insurance, property tax status, and lien status. Prepare appropriate communication with prospective and current members; assist with collecting and processing required documents for closing of loans in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual loan reviews, business loan documents, extensions and amendments, order and process supporting documents. Handle small applications from branches; follow up with members and vendors on loan documentation contingencies, etc.
  • Assist the department and officers as requested; handle member and internal calls; follow up with members and on loan covenants.
  • Assist with the setup of loan files, including reviewing and filing of final loan documentation, initiate title reports, appraisal orders for review, and all other appropriate documentation for the department.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience. Knowledge of banking and/or credit union regulations is a plus; a strong understanding of business lending terminology is a plus. 
  • Education: A high school education or GED; 2- or 4-year business or accounting degree is a plus. 
  • Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. 
  • Other Skills: Strong oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills; ability to organize and prioritize effectively to ensure efficient production; detail-focused; strong computer skills including experience with MS Suite, etc.
