Educational Employees Credit Union is Hiring a Communications Specialist Near Fresno, CA

Do you have experience and/or education in communications, journalism, or public relations that you would like to put to use?
Our Marketing Department has an opening for a Communications Specialist.
Responsibilities of the Communications Specialist position include:
  • Create, edit and/or collaborate on internal and external communications including, but not limited to, newsletters, social media, letters, press releases and emails.
  • Create and maintain content on the internal employee intranet site.
  • Review and respond to external text messages sent to the credit union.
  • Manage the Employee Spouse & Dependent Student Grant Program and assist with the processing of grant applications for the member and employee grant programs.
  • Write and distribute media advisories and press releases to local, national and industry media.
  • Work closely with other departments to coordinate internal communications.
  • Review written internal and external communications to ensure consistency and accurate content.
  • Participate in community and industry events to build a positive brand image for the credit union.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in communications/journalism/public relations or related emphasis, plus two to five years' experience as a communications/public relations specialist, or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to work with executives and staff at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and the flexibility to handle several projects at once.
  • Fully knowledgeable in word-processing software, spreadsheet software, as well as minor software programs.
