Job Duties:  This position is responsible for supporting the Information Technology & Telecommunications Manager in management of the information technology functions and resources for Education Success Network and its affiliates (collectively “ESN”). Responsibilities includes the day-to-day operation of the computer networks, including organizing, installing, and supporting ESN’s computer systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems. 

This position:

• Supports the Information Technology & Telecommunications Manager in network design, construction, maintenance, and security; server design, construction, maintenance, and back-up; hardware maintenance and refurbishment; and software deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting. 
• Determines ESN’s system needs and installs appropriate network hardware and software. 
• Responsible for making needed upgrades and repairs to networks and ensuring that systems are operating correctly; providing network security, desktop security, anti-virus solutions and email filtering solutions; maintaining LAN/WAN infrastructure, multiple servers, and work stations; creating and implementing IT helpdesk processes, standards and SLAs; maintaining and supporting VMware-based virtual machine network; evaluating and optimizing network/system performance; training and mentoring ESN technical support staff; overseeing on-boarding of new users and providing equipment and training as needed; providing technical support to all ESN users at multiple sites; and interpreting and solving problems when a user or an automated monitoring system alerts that a problem exists.

Requirements

Required Education & Experience: MS in Telecommunications/Network Engineering (or related) and six (6) months of experience in IT field OR BS in Telecommunications/Network Engineering (or related) and two (2) years of experience in IT field. Must have experience with: (1) managing end-user devices (Chromebooks, iPads, Laptops) in a school environment using Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms; (2) configuring and troubleshooting classroom smartboards and teaching faculty on its use cases and features; (3) automated deployment of latest Windows operating system; and (4) configuring and monitoring performance, scalability, and security of service provider networks; and documenting IP-based networking and cabling in Visio. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) in Routing and Switching required and Microsoft Cloud Computing certification required.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm
