EDEN Inc is Hiring a Custodian Part-time Near Cleveland, OH
The custodian assures that the EDEN-owned property and those of EDEN's partners meet agency and community standards and are maintained in a safe, decent and sanitary manner.
- Performs general, routine cleaning including but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sweeping, cleaning windows or mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners and sponges, cleaning, servicing and supply of restrooms, and cleaning all common areas.
- Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing and waxing floors both in the common areas and in units.
- Monitors building safety and security and reports any safety or security issues to appropriate staff
- Gathers, empties, and takes trash to the garbage chute or dumpsters.
- Assists in moving the dumpster to designated location for pick up if needed.
- Cleans out vacant units including but not limited to cleaning out cabinets (inside and out), refrigerators, stoves, and bathtubs (bathrooms or tubs, sinks, toilets). Prepares vacant units for occupancy.
- Sets up, arranges and/or removes decorations, tables, and chairs to prepare facilities for events or meetings.
- Moves furniture, equipment, or supplies either manually or by hand truck/dolly.
- Completes paperwork required for custodial activities.
- Maintains janitorial equipment in accordance with manufacture's specifications
- Maintains adequate inventory of cleaning supplies, follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Mixes water and detergents or acids to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 1 year experience in custodial or related field is preferred.
