eCapital is Hiring a Collateral Analyst Near New York City, NY

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Collateral Analyst serves as the initial assessor, monitor, and controller of collateral and loan activity for a portfolio. The Collateral Analyst’s primary job duties includes reviewing all collateral that is provided by a borrower to secure a potential loan, considering all of the information provided and ensuring that it meets the compliance and financial requirements for a loan. The Collateral Analyst also coordinates with credit management if there are outstanding disputes over the collateral and also provides reports on all accounts and maintains a large quantity of documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling the borrowing base certificate and/or sales and collection reports and supporting documentation to confirm the value of the borrower’s collateral as well as the availability and the loan system.
  • Reviewing the Borrower Servicing Guide for all assigned accounts to verify that borrower’s reporting is performed in accordance with the terms of the loan agreement and authorized signatures are on the reports.
  • Advising the Loan Officer of reporting inadequacies and problems and, under the Loan Officer’s direction, working with the borrower to resolve these problems.
  • Posting collateral information from the borrower’s reports to the loan system.
  • Preparing advance requests and, after determining availability, processing requests in accordance with approval policies.
  • Posting activity affecting the borrower's loan to the loan system, including advances, deposits and transfers.
  • Producing sales and collection registers from the loan system on the assigned accounts.
  • Preparing monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable collateral shown in the loan system to the borrower’s accounts receivable aging report and final borrowing base certificate for the month.
  • Maintaining a professional and courteous manner with all borrowers, including assisting borrowers by answering questions and resolving problems promptly.
  • Maintaining an effective line of communication with the Loan Officer on assigned accounts and alerting them to any unusual trends observed in performing routine job duties.
  • Decision Making Responsibilities: Determine compliance of submitted invoices and inventory borrowing bases for conformance with internal guidelines and acknowledge that all supplemental accompanying documentation is acceptable.
  • Duties and special projects as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

  • Reports directly to the Operations Manager

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, business administration preferred, or 3 years prior experience commensurate with the requirements of the position
  • Preferred Skills and Experiences:
    • 3 years’ experience in Asset Based Lending operations is preferred, and/or 3-5 years’ experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable experience.
    • Knowledge of lending regulations and how to ensure compliance with financial laws.
    • Problem solving and decision-making skills are essential.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communications and customer relation skills are required.
    • Attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary for handling frequent interruptions, balancing several on-going tasks, and working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to understand and follow processes and procedures.
    • Strong knowledge of the Stucky Loan Management System preferred.

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires some flexibility in scheduling, such as the ability to work evenings and weekends to meet client deliverables.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires ability to travel domestically and locally by car and/or public transportation.
