We are currently seeking a Speech Language Assistant (SLA) to join our team in Manchester and Salem, NH! The SLA will assist the Speech Language Pathologist with providing therapy to children ages 8-21 with a variety of disabilities. The individual in this role will assist the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with speech/language and hearing screenings without making interpretations, perform speech therapy as directed by the SLP and document the child’s performance and report data to the supervising SLP. Qualifications: Speech language assistants must hold a 2-year associate’s degree or higher in speech-language pathology, communication sciences and disorders or communication disorders awarded by an educational program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Speech-Language Pathology or regional accrediting bodies listed in rules. Additional responsibilities: Assist the Speech/language pathologist with speech/language and hearing screenings without making interpretations. Perform speech therapy as directed by Individual Education Plans or Individualized Family Support Plans developed by a licensed SLP. Document client performance (charts, records, graphs) and report data to the supervising SLP to track client progress and quality improvement. Assist SLP with clerical duties (preparing therapy materials, scheduling activities etc.). Assist with departmental operations such as maintaining supplies and equipment and a safe work area. Attend parent meetings with a Licensed SLP. Assist the SLP with in service training and a public relations program. Participate in staff development, attend meetings, and attend in-services as scheduled Compensation: $25.00 per hour Hours: This is a full-time, year round position.EOE
