East West Bank is seeking a strong Director of Accounting to work on a fast-paced team in Corporate Accounting. This position will be based in our corporate headquarters in Pasadena, CA.
Responsibilities
- Assist with research and evaluate accounting transactions and new accounting pronouncements, and application of those impacting financial institutions including establishing accounting policies and procedures
- Review/prepare schedules that support all public filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8K and other SEC filings), as needed
- Review/preparation of schedules for various banking regulatory reports, including the quarterly call and FRY schedules, as needed
- Review/prepare various schedules for internal reporting requirements
- Monthly review/preparation of financial statement variance analysis
- Assist with system implementation projects and support bank’s initiatives, including new products
- Responsible for the completion of the monthly close activities, including review of reconciliations and journal entries
- Provide day to day management, oversight, in addition to longer-term development planning of a team of accountants
- Work on process improvement as needed
- Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects as needed.
Qualifications
- At least 15 years of accounting and solid financial reporting experience and at least 8 in a management level position
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Demonstrate strong research skills regarding current and prospective updates to process and reporting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
- Must be team-oriented and able to handle multiple assignments and be deadline oriented.
- Must have strong analytical, strategic, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation
- Strong technical, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to partner well with internal customers
- Must have experience managing direct reports
- Banking experience highly preferred
- Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite required
Compensation
The base pay range for this position is USD $170,000.00/Yr. - USD $210,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.Job Summary
