EGYC Steward
The EGYC Steward is responsible for the day to day operation of the club and waterfront. While the most visible aspects of the operation are maintaining the highest level of Members service and appearance for the facility and its staff, the Steward must successfully oversee all critical responsibilities including marine operation, club house and facility management and safety & compliance.
The Steward is responsible for all aspects of marina and club operation, including dock maintenance, boat slips, equipment, rentals, and property to facilitate the fulfillment of financial goals and company initiatives. Additionally, the Steward will report to House Committee for strategic, operational, and financial success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide excellent Members service
- Manage and train all marina employees
- Manage maintenance work done throughout the facility to ensure safe and acceptable property and equipment, as well as aesthetic appearance
- Manage sales, facilities, and guest relations effectively
- Sustain and optimize profitability, performance and guest satisfaction
Members Service
- Constantly evaluate and improve service standards and processes for leading guest experience and competitive advantage
- Train and schedule staff to provide each Members with the appropriate service and correct attitude
- Oversee day to day facility, slip and gas dock operation
Facility Operation
· Ensure that marina and club and owned property is well maintained
· Address safety, security, and liability concerns as soon as possible. These include but are not limited to lighting issues, gate & camera failures, trip hazards, & fire hazards
· Manage seasonal opening and closing of facilities and activities
· Maximize usage of club, slips and moorings
Legal & Policy Compliance
- Operate the marina in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws
- Operate the marina consistent with company policies and procedures
- Regularly review and update the marinas emergency procedures
- Ensure that all staff are trained in emergency procedures
- Inventory and maintain emergency equipment
- Be reasonably available in the case of emergency
- Follow with insurance, operation, Members, and law enforcement as need in the aftermath of an emergency
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years marine operation related experience preferred
- Marina boat hauling and launching experience preferred
- Understanding of full-service marina capabilities and activities, including the ability to build and expand a comprehensive service & maintenance department
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees, Members, tenants, vendors, and government personnel
- Ability to make independent decisions and determine appropriate course of action
- Strong ability to develop partnerships with internal clients/others
- Good presentation, facilitation, and computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability work independently to achieve goals objectives and prioritize work
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and corporate goals
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external Members
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Physical Conditions and Requirements
- Supporting the club, dock, and yard team is an expectation. Outside labor is part of the job requirements.

· Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like
· Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
· Operating machinery and/or power tools
· Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment
· Operation of vessels including club launch and work boat
· Have or acquire USCG limited master license for launch operations
Experience:
- Operation: 5 years (Preferred)
- Marina: 2 years (Preferred)
