Position Summary:

We are looking for a technically confident, passionate and curious point of contact, to resolve technical issues and be our internal escalation engineer. In this role, you will be shielding our development teams from escalations by reviewing and resolving impacts, with a focus on productization of solutions rather than mitigating edge cases. This in turn can lead to greater productivity within the engineering teams.

This is a remote position.

What You'll Do:

  • Shield development teams from escalations by reviewing & resolving impacts, with a focus on productization of solutions rather than mitigating edge cases.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with CX, Product, and Engineering teams to resolve external and internal product issues
  • Prioritize escalated issues by leveraging data to estimate potential and real impact scope
  • Serve as a point of escalation for CX to backend and mobile teams
  • Develop long-term resolution of technical issues with internal tooling and products through investigation, documentation, and escalation
  • Identify root cause, develop, and build solutions to escalated bugs or issues. Document resolutions and/or mitigation procedures for escalated issues
  • Document and communicate tooling changes or updates to key stakeholders
  • Create insightful reporting for data analysis, tracking, and product questions
  • Provide directional feedback to Engineering and Product teams supporting initiative prioritization
  • Create and improve escalation procedures between CX and Engineering teams
  • Lead in critical incidents and outage situations, working with Engineering, CX, Site Reliability and other teams to drive resolution. Document scenarios for post-mortems and work cross-functionally to resolve and prevent outages

What We're Looking For:

  • Competency in SQL
  • Some experience with writing scripts or small programs in a language like Python, Javascript, or Java
  • Experience with reading through logs and stack traces to identify the source of an issue
  • Experience troubleshooting cloud infrastructure, AWS strongly preferred
  • Troubleshooting technical issues, identifying point of failure, and debugging code
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • 2 years of relevant experience with a track-record of high performance supporting internal and external customers in a complex software environment
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, deliver with care and urgency, communicate effectively across teams, and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Strong aptitude in analytics, strong curiosity and ability to extract insights from the data, and ability to make improvements through data
  • Solid understanding of API calls (HTTP standards, network requests and responses, JSON payloads) and server-client architecture
  • Comfortable with driving incident resolution under SLAs
  • External customer communication during severe incidents
