Responsibilities & Tasks

As a Teacher with Early Learning Children’s Academy, you’ll be responsible for the care of children. You’ll need to be friendly, compassionate and have lots of energy. Present learning opportunities in a stress-free, safe, and encouraging environment for youngsters. Foster the development of communication within your classroom and assess the developmental needs of the children in your classroom continually. You’ll also be responsible for the supervision of the children under your care, develop and execute lesson-plans, be a leader in the classroom, and communicate effectively with parents and staff. We take the education of children very seriously, and we expect you to as well, but that doesn’t mean that learning isn’t fun – it is! You must follow all our policies, complete any assigned tasks, attend all meetings and staff functions, and maintain state regulations and certifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education or related degree, OR
  • Associate’s in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education or related degree, OR
  • Child Development Associate (CDA), OR
  • 2 or more years working with children in a classroom environment (while we prefer some child care experience, without at minimum a CDA, two (2) years actual child care experience is state mandated);
  • Plus, all of the following:
  • Pass a rigorous background check including criminal history, child abuse clearances, and an FBI background check
  • Desire to learn while teaching, and enjoy working with children
  • Strong time management, leadership, and organizational skills
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Completion of CPR and First Aid certification (required)

Upon hire, you will be required to complete Mandated Reporter, DHS, and Keystone Stars trainings.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $26.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Springfield, PA 19064: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
