Responsibilities

The Supply Planning Manager plays a key role in ensuring a service oriented, cost-effective supply chain for Eagle Foods. This role is responsible for performing rough cut capacity planning and the creation of plans that fit within the capabilities of the manufacturing location’s asset base. The supply planning manager also leads a team that is responsible for providing the plant a discreet detailed line schedule each week that is sequenced and optimized to maximize operational efficiencies while still meeting customer orders.

This role is responsible for Inventory Control activities including setting safety stock levels, determining MTO or MTS items, ensuring system inventory accuracy and managing obsolete inventory mitigation and reporting. This critical work supports the ongoing success of our company by having the right product, in the right place, at the right time.

Essential Functions

• Developing long range/rough cut capacity plans for the plant
• Working with the plant to develop an operating strategy and production sequence that sets us up in the sweet spot on cost, service, flexibility and responsiveness
• Assessing capacity needs and plans in support of innovation and cost optimization
• Overseeing the planner(s) that sequence/schedule production, order materials in support of production and deploy product to the forward DC’s in the network so that:
  • Fill rate is over 99% to top 10 customers and over 98% to all other
  • Back-order levels are at or near ZERO
  • Inventory levels are in line with the company cash conversion plan
  • Product transitions and conversions are done to maximize service and minimize obsolescence
  • Overall obsolescence in minimized in line with budget
• Driving continuous improvement in planning and scheduling processes re: the tools used to plan, set safety stock, deploy inventory, release materials and improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the process
• Developing team members skills and maintaining engagement

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in business or a technical field
• 5-10 years of experience in CPG Supply Chain Planning, Scheduling or Logistics preferred
• Small company experience is valued
• APICS certification desirable
• Highly proficient with Excel and managing large amounts of data
• Demonstrable leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
• Demonstrates a high level of ownership and initiative, engaging other functions in problem solving
• Experience mapping and redesigning business processes
• Must be able to travel at least 1 week per month if needed
