EAGLE College Prep Phoenix South is Hiring a Regional Director of Operations Near Phoenix, AZ

Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Regional Director of Operations will play a critical part of the leadership team at each school within the assigned region. S/he will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to School Operations Managers. The Regional Director of Operation is the primary driver of policy implementation, compliance, financial analysis, and systems development within the region. They will work closely with site leadership, data and applications, and Director of Accounting and Finance to ensure

Essential Responsibilities and Competencies

Operations

  • Work with Open Sky Education and the Regional Team to oversee the purchase and maintenance of technology equipment and infrastructure, implementation of technology training, and management of technology consulting relationships
  • Maintain the setup of the Student Information System and performs regular tasks such as user creation, staff data updates, and training of new team members
  • Manage the School Operations Manager (SOM) at each school site including training and onboarding and conducting weekly meetings to ensure school is in compliance with policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain emergency protocols with School Operations Managers
  • Work with Open Sky HR and appropriate school-based staff to maintain, update, and communicate the Employee Handbook
  • Conduct weekly meetings with School Principals in region to ensure school level operations and budgetary process and planning are satisfactory

Finance & Purchasing

  • Manage fiscal operations at the schools within the region, including purchase orders, monthly metrics reporting, year to date reporting, and other reporting as requested
  • Serve as Accounts Payable point of contact for the region, coding all invoices received and processing payments in a timely manner
  • Partner with the School Controller to ensure financial compliance and manage the annual audit for schools
  • Work with Executive Director and Principals to create and oversee school budgets, finances, and relationships with outside vendors
  • Oversee purchasing of all products and services on behalf of the schools in conjunction with each school’s Principal
  • Serve as Accounts Payable point of contact for the region, coding all invoices received and processing payments in a timely manner
  • Manage all school contracts and negotiations including food service, transportation, cleaning, and equipment
  • Ensure proper internal control of organization’s assets and assist Open Sky Finance Team with internal/external audits
  • Generate operating and financial reports in relation to school performance for review with the school leader and the Open Sky Finance team
  • Complete government and authorizer grant proposals and reports in conjunction with regional and school leadership; assist with grant applications

State Reporting and Record Keeping

  • Oversee SOM and/or Office Manager to ensure accurate record keeping and data management
  • Lead the preparation and oversight of all school audits and ensure that all aspects of the school are run in compliance with all governing authorities
  • Serve as District Food Service Manager, ensuring national and state compliance standards are being met and audits are managed
  • Oversee state reporting and annual report cards including student enrollment and attendance data
  • Manage the collection and maintenance of student information throughout the region (receiving forms and paperwork, tracking missing forms, managing databases, updating contact information, keeping records current, etc.)
  • Complete government and authorizer grant proposals and reports in conjunction with regional and school leadership; assist with grant applications
  • Perform other duties as requested or required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with business, management, accounting, operations or HR focus preferred
  • At least 5 years of work experience preferably in an operations management capacity, in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience with federal, state, or private compliance activities desired
  • Previous experience with school leadership preferred
  • Comfort level with financial oversight and budgetary tracking to support strategic growth
  • Experience with accounting, financial oversight, and human resources desired
  • Experience working managing multi-functional teams to achieve desired results
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
