DYNAPOWER is Hiring a Buyer Near South Burlington, VT

Summary

As a Buyer on Dynapower's Purchasing team, you are responsible for supporting and creating strong relationships with suppliers and maintaining existing ones. You'll purchase material components (including raw material goods) as well as finished goods for our energy storage and power conversion systems. You have several years of experience in a Supply Chain role, and are excited to be part of our mission to power a cleaner planet. 

What You'll Be Doing

On an average day, you'll:

  • Manage assigned suppliers and commodities to ensure on-time delivery of orders, including recommending solutions, resources and alternative supply options. 
  • Obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, delivery and terms with suppliers.
  • Manage open Purchase Orders and maintain a continuous effort to eliminate material shortages daily; expediting, deferring or canceling purchase orders as required, based on schedule and/or inventory changes. 
  • Plan material to meet Production scheduled dates and place purchase orders for the procurement of production and non-production material, components and/or services, as required by MRP, forecasts, production schedules or authorized purchase requests
  • Manages suppliers with consignment inventory, including helping to determine appropriate consignment inventory items and quantity levels maintained.

What You Need To Apply

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain role or related work environment

Preferred

  • Knowledge of the Electrical Equipment, Electromechanical Assemblies and finished goods used in the Clean Energy, Industrial, and Defense end markets; basic awareness of key players and suppliers in the industry.
  • Prior experience with purchasing electrical equipment, components and commodities.

Work Environment

This position is based in South Burlington, VT. The position operates in both a professional office environment and manufacturing environment. Regular trips to manufacturing floor or other manufacturing plants for observation, research or customer visits may be required.
