Job Summary
We are hiring a Safety Specialist to join our team! The individual in this position will provide support to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) on various capital improvement and construction projects within the DC, Maryland and Virginia area.
The ideal candidate is one with a bachelor’s degree and about 3-5 years of experience in operations (transit is a plus but not required). They will have a strong interest in aptitude to learn the customer's processes, a passion for transportation, and will be a quick learner. They will be capable of developing end-user friendly processes; leading implementation through training, coaching, and mentoring; facilitating Local Safety Committees, measuring effectiveness with metrics based on key performance indicators; and collecting feedback that is used to drive continuous improvement.
