DWG Consulting Engineers is Hiring a Director of Marketing Near Mount Pleasant, SC

Job Title: Director of Marketing FLSA Status: Exempt

Essential Job Functions

  • Strong communication skills - graphic, verbal, and written.
  • Self-starter, ability to prioritize, commitment to quality control excellence.
  • Knowledge of A/E construction industry and terminology.
  • This position has a direct impact on client and staff relations, team partners, business development, marketing, public relations, and the overall reputation of the firm.
  • Represent the firm to clients, peer organizations, and business associates.
  • Lead in scheduling, organizing, collaborating, and producing business development and brand management efforts for the firm.
  • Attends Trade Shows, Civic and Agency Meetings and monitors workflow through our numerous client portals. e.g., SC Budget and Control Board.
  • Manage trade show execution and follow up.
  • Assists with special event planning.
  • Seeks new opportunities through improving relationships with marginal clients and through making cold calls to prospective new clients.
  • Manages and maintains a database of potential and current clients and future opportunities.
  • Oversees and develops social media information and maintains public visibility. Example: LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, DWG Website.
  • Assists with the development of internal culture supporting communication.
  • Mentors staff on business etiquette and marketing processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership team to initiate, develop, and manage contact with current clients.
  • Develop and maintain a network of corporate, industry, government, municipal, and community contacts to keep abreast of industry, client, and competitor activity.
  • Collaborate with business development team to develop and execute pursuit planning activities to win new business and assist in selecting presentation team.
  • Manage quality control for all marketing deliverables.
  • Lead recruitment for new employees.
  • Manage and update digital job postings.
  • Make the first contact and evaluate candidates’ personality related to DWG culture.
  • Facilitate and manage interview process with candidates and leadership.
  • Shepherd potential new employees through the interview process.
  • Participate in the onboarding of new hires.
  • Leads the qualifications process, to include:
  • Serves as liaison between DWG and Clients for qualification information development.
  • Oversees the development of marketing information for qualifications submissions. e.g., SE 330’s.
  • Oversees the generation of marketing and interview presentations.
  • Interview technical team for project content and stories.
  • Familiar, if not proficient, with Adobe InDesign and PowerPoint.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises and mentors Business Administrator to:
  • Create the Marketing Material, qualifications material and presentation development.
  • Maintain online presence, including social media, website, and email.
  • Embrace and implement brand standards.
  • Assist with graphics, writing, and proofreading.
  • Track request for proposals and opportunity deadline.
  • Maintain list of editorial contacts and publications.
  • Handle requested edits to press releases and article drafts.
  • Coordinate awards competition entries; ensure compliance with award requirements.
  • Maintain company registrations, track professional staff licensure list or list of industry involvements by staff.
  • Prepare or assemble written and visual information for client presentations.
  • Help to produce qualifications, including editing and graphics; prepare for digital and/or print reproduction.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business or Marketing or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years professional experience required; AEC industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of building architecture, engineering, and construction.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to conduct research into application issues and products.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong technical translation skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to work in the United States.
  • Must have dependable personal vehicle to use for this position. Mileage will be reimbursable at IRS rate.

Working Conditions

  • Working hours significantly outside of regular business hours.
  • Able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
  • Able to attend meetings, conferences and trade show events on weekends and evenings.
  • Frequent travel with occasional overnight travel. Must provide own vehicle.

Physical Effort

  • Occasionally handling objects 40 pounds or less.

  • Frequently sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally stooping and/or kneeling and crawling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
