DRW is Hiring a Senior User Experience Designer (UX) Near Chicago, IL

DRW is a diversified trading firm with over 3 decades of experience bringing sophisticated technology and exceptional people together to operate in markets around the world. We value autonomy and the ability to quickly pivot to capture opportunities, so we operate using our own capital and trading at our own risk.

Headquartered in Chicago with offices throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia, we trade a variety of asset classes including Fixed Income, ETFs, Equities, FX, Commodities and Energy across all major global markets. We have also leveraged our expertise and technology to expand into three non-traditional strategies: real estate, venture capital and cryptoassets.

We operate with respect, curiosity and open minds. The people who thrive here share our belief that it’s not just what we do that matters–it's how we do it. DRW is a place of high expectations, integrity, innovation and a willingness to challenge consensus.

We are looking for a Senior User Experience Designer (UX) to help bring our internal and external applications to life. This position will utilize your creativity from presentations, event collateral, social media design and research reports to application design. As our Senior Experience Designer, you will work as a member of our User Experience Design and Engineering team along with our global brand and communications team to take raw content and shape it into compelling materials for both internal and external audiences. This position will include many opportunities for cross collaboration among our teams around the globe.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Help tighten and refine our brand standards across the DRW companies to ensure a consistent look, feel and tone.
  • Own delivery of print-ready files for conferences, counterparty meetings and internal uses.
  • Take raw content and develop infographics, one-pagers and streamlined presentations for several different business units within in the firm.
  • Advise on photography styles and participate in photo/video shoots as required to build asset library. Serve as manager of library and oversee content management.
  • Assist in graphic design work for social media accounts and internal tools.
  • Utilize your User Experience Design skills to understand complex business workflows and recommend changes in all levels of our businesses.
  • Be a self-starter to help implement human centered design practices at DRW.
  • Develop all types of digital assets and collateral, including wireframing, mockups, prototypes, finalized layouts, and creation of digital-ready assets.
  • Execute and lead the creative process through design thinking, design sprints, and other optimum methods.
  • Be responsible for overall UI architecture involving colors, fonts, usability of user interfaces, copywriting, and accessibility.
  • Serve as a resource to internal teams on topics such as information architecture, accessibility, user interface design, and browser support.

You’ll be right at home if you have:

  • A clear understanding of how to design for a professional audience.
  • Expert skills in taking complex information and translating it to simple, clear designs.
  • Willingness to be nimble and iterative with your work as we expect quality over quantity.
  • A flexible approach to getting the job done and a client-service oriented mentality.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative suite, Keynote, and Figma.
