Description

LOCATION The position is based at DrinkPAK's headquarters in Santa Clarita, California.

TEAM The Forklift Driver will report to the Sr. Inventory Manager or Packaging Supervisor.

POSITION The Forklift Driver is responsible for preparing merchandise and securing it for safe, easy transport, communicating with leadership to determine priorities and performing regular machine maintenance on forklifts.

TYPE Full Time; Hourly / Non-Exempt

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Unloads and loads trucks in a safely and timely manner to serve our customers
• Plans supply and material requirements by studying production schedule, scheduling deliveries to production area
• Retrieves supplies and materials by studying specifications; locating and verifying supplies and materials; secures pallets on truck; moves pallet to production location
• Maintains inventory in production area by anticipating and tracking usage. Monitors inventory by reporting discrepancies.
• Clears production area by securing and moving finished pallets and moving empty pallets
• Documents actions by logging movements of supplies, materials, and finished goods
• Maintains safe work environment by watching out for pedestrian traffic; following standards and procedures; complying with safety / legal regulations.
• Keeps forklift operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairs
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
• Interacts and maintains positive relationships with all levels of leadership
• Accomplishes special projects and other assignments/duties as required by management
• Compliant to all safety rules and regulations, GMP’s and all DrinkPAK’s policies and procedures
• Establishes and maintains high standards for quality, housekeeping and productivity
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Field or similar manufacturing / warehouse environment; 2 years preferred in Forklift position
• Forklift Certification required
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred
• Proven ability to safely operate a sit-down motorized forklift
• Ability to navigate within a WMS system
• Must have a full understanding of the operations of a Forklift, (electrical or Propane)
