Mission of the Role:

As Executive Vice President of Operations, you will lead the operating leaders of each of our business units. You will magnify your impact throughout the organization with your leadership in operational and character development, as we work to build both strong businesses and strong people. You must have a detailed grasp on solid business operations, understand the dynamics of high performing teams, and manage an effective and efficient operating cadence built on personal and organizational progress. You will be the key operating driver across our entire organization.

You will be directly responsible for ensuring best-practice operational tools are implemented, used and continually optimized. Systems and planning, both people and business oriented, are your core areas of influence. You will be accountable to managing a stable business strategy, ensuring discipline and consistency are maintained. Customer first thinking, and fully developing and growing our value proposition through excellent operations are also core to the role.

As an Executive Leadership Team member, our EVP of Operations will be tasked with refining and setting organizational strategy, managing multiple teams and projects within the company and corresponding business units. This means you have an enormous impact on the ongoing success of our organization.

Outcomes We’ll Expect:

  • Oversee effective and scalable operating structures. Ensure a well-established and growing value proposition, as well as an operating business model that gains efficiency and competence with added scale.
  • Manage operational cadence. Maintain accountability, effectiveness, and usefulness of annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly planning cycles. Help teams break down big goals into manageable bite sizes.
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable the team leaders for pursuing business objectives to the best of their ability. Invest in, coach, and grow their abilities and competencies over time.
  • Ensure high-functioning teams and effective operations at each business unit. Successfully integrate the various components of team contribution into a synergistic whole.
  • Collaborate with executive and business unit leadership to identify opportunity, refine operating strategy, and build the operating infrastructure and team capability to capitalize upon it.

Competencies You’ll Need:

  • Leadership – Measured in the enthusiasm and progress of your followership. Ability to motivate people to achieve extraordinary things in the face of impossible odds.
  • Process and structure – Excellent organization around good process how things get done. Rally teams around engaging with, and operationalizing, business-unit and company-wide efforts.
  • Customer Orientation – Represent customer-first thinking by filtering all decisions through the business value proposition. Handle significant customer and stakeholder escalations with good form.
  • Motivated – Self-starter that has intrinsic pleasure in progress across the business, in the teams that are running them, and through themselves.
  • Team Orientation – Understand the importance of well-developed and high-performing teams, and how they are most effectively led. Allow space for the contribution of others to common objectives.
  • Business Generalist – Skilled in many facets of business operations, but willing to respect and integrate the thinking and contribution of specialists in a team environment. Although you will partner with team members from Finance and Data departments (among others), you must also understand business financial performance and think deeply about operational impacts over the long term.

Qualifications You Should Have:

  • 10 years general operations experience
  • Minimum 7 years leading teams in a senior management capacity

Annual Salary:

  • $180,000-$200,000
  • Executive team bonus plan participation
