Description

  1. Providing advocacy as needed to ensure patient knows and understands his/her rights.
  2. Ensuring patient informed consent.
  3. Provides compassionate support through all process phases.
  4. Help patients become independent by meeting care goals and measuring those goals against patient healthcare outcomes, adjusting as necessary.
  5. Quality care assurance, following state and nursing guidelines and standards.
  6. Work on a multidisciplinary team to discuss, assess and resolve patient problems, yet able to work independently.
  7. Procedure compliance.
  8. Provides documentation which reflects services for each client in accordance with licensure standards.
  9. Maintains the confidential nature of all clients and facility activities.
  10. Maintains required training and continuing education.
  11. Maintains Standards of Ethical Conduct.
  12. Complies with all DreamLife Recovery policies and procedures.
  13. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, assists in educating clients about health problems and medical care.
  14. Infection control protocol.
  15. Charting patient care in patient chart and department charts.
  16. Documenting and communicating nursing care with next shift.
  17. Patient confidentiality.
  18. Troubleshooting equipment.
  19. Maintain nursing supplies.
  20. Facilitates medication education for new clients and for all other clients starting new medications.
  21. Meets with therapists to provide information about client medical problems.
  22. Assists the treatment team in incorporating medical issues into treatment planning.
  23. Takes verbal orders from the Doctor, documents them in the client record, and carries them out accurately and professionally.
  24. Provides routine nursing care under the supervision of the Medical Doctor.
  25. Participate in regular department meetings and staff meetings
  26. Efficient utilization of supplies and equipment to prevent waste.
  27. Maintains effective communication between outside medical services and the facility.
  28. Keeps and shares records and equipment.
  29. Participates in performance improvement, utilization revies, fire & disaster committees, and others as requested.
  30. Attends in-service education programs as assigned to learn new forms, procedures, and developmental skills.
  31. Has good work habits; gets things done in a timely, efficient manner with no excessive absences, is on time for scheduled shifts, and is prepared to begin work.
  32. Functions as a team member and contributes positively to the morale of staff.
  33. Performs additional duties, as deemed necessary, by supervisor.
  34. Maintains up to date training in CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, Fire Safety, and other areas mandated by organizational policies.
  35. Communicates effectively with other staff members and demonstrates the ability to work as a team.
  36. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, responding positively to changing situations in the work setting.
  37. Demonstrates objectivity and maturity under stress.
  38. Accepts and utilizes supervision.
  39. Addresses problems noted by supervisor.
  40. Performs other assignments as requested by supervisor.
  41. Demonstrates willingness to accept responsibility.
  42. Completes tasks with concern for work quality.

Qualifications


  1. Graduation from an accredited trade school, college or university with major course work in nursing.
  2. A minimum of 2 years experience with chemical dependency and/or dual diagnosed clients, preferably in an out-patient setting.
  3. Licensed as an LPN nurse in the State of Pennsylvania and maintains current licensure per Pennsylvania requirements. Maintains current CPR certification.
  4. Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
  5. Knowledge of Detox and Substance Abuse.
  6. Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal and in Written Communication Skills.
  7. Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws.
  8. Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies
  9. Knowledge of Workplace Violence Prevention
  10. Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program
  11. Knowledge of Safety Management / Infection / Risk Management.
  12. Proficient in all areas of personnel management.
  13. Maintains all necessary CEUs Licensing and trainings.
  14. Familiar with Community Resources.
