Draslovka – North & South America Information Technology (IT) Manager

Memphis Plant

The IT Manager has the overall responsibility and accountability for organization wide systems and information. The position interfaces closely with the Mining Solutions business in support of the integrated operating units. The position has 2 to 4 direct reports.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Sets expectations, holds people accountable for compliance to our core values and models the appropriate behavior
  • Proactive management of IT (business, software) applications
  • Plan, organize, control, and evaluate IT environment and security
  • Test, troubleshoot and adjust IT environment and security to operate effectively
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve and update IT environment and security
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Monitor and supervise daily operations of IT environment and security
  • Run regular checks and audits on IT environment and security
  • Monitor performance of IT environment and security to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
  • Generate operation reports for IT environment and security.
  • Contribute on developing and implementing IT policy and best practice guides
  • Contribute on design, development, implement and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Evaluating risk, developing recovery and backup processes
  • Assuring that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes, and regulations
  • Designing IT training programs and workshops for staff
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop IT solutions
  • Coordinate technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages
  • Plan, manage and report local IT budget, forecast, handling cash flow and enforcing cost-effectiveness
  • Selecting and purchasing new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary.
  • Manage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance
  • Identifying opportunities for team training and skills advancement
  • Contribute to define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
  • Maintains housekeeping and exterior image to community

The following is required for this role:

  • BS degree in Engineering or equivalent in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a related field, including prior management experience in a chemical, refining, or pharmaceutical industry
  • 3 years of experience working in IT operations
  • Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure, network and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of employees and contractors
  • Ability to set priorities and provide direction to influence management and broader organization
  • Ability to assess and recruit top candidates, train new IT staff, supervise and motivate team members for high performance
  • Demonstrated strong teamwork, collaboration, and cross-cultural skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create a respectful work environment where everyone can contribute to their full potential
  • Demonstrated capability to drive results and meet tight timelines
  • Excellent time management and strategic planning skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience leading and managing IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible in a constantly changing work environment
  • Proactive with demonstrated ability to think strategically
  • Proven record of developing individuals and own self-development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Forms, Teams

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Six Sigma certification
  • Contract administration and negotiation experience
  • SAP experience
  • Microsoft Azure expirience
  • Power BI/Dashboarding experience
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Expert
