Responsibilities

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Field Technician provides ongoing support for installations and maintenance at customer locations for our Furnace Engineering group. In addition, when not working in the field, the Field Technician will be responsible for maintenance activities for the furnaces located at our home facility in Bowling Green, OH. This hours for this position are a typical 8 hour day shift, with an expectation of an aggressive travel schedule to customer locations. It is expected that 60% of the work week will be local day trips; numberous multi-week projects; and a 2 week trip during our July and December shut down. Responsibilities include:

• This is a heavy electrical focused position.

Installation of heat treatment furnaces at customer locations throughout North America.

• Maintenance/repair of customer furnaces.
• Trouble shooting and diagnostics of furnace/production performance problems.
• Co-manage contractors/vendors for on-site installations, maintenance, and testing.
• Partner with the engineering team to recommend solutions.
• Document processes and provide reporting to customers and "home office" for billing purposes.
• Communicate with customers to determine and understand needs and objectives.
• Adhere to customer demands for product performance.
• Follow all required safety practices.
• Work effectively with the Dowa Furnace Engineering team for optimal results.
• Provide maintenance support at Bowling Green facility "no travel" periods; for furnaces, conveyor systems, blasting machines, etc.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

• High School education or equivalent.
• 3 phase and 480v competence required.
• Working knowledge of blue prints and schematics.
• Rigging experience is a plus, but not required. Five years experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Must have PLC troubleshooting and programming; Allen Bradley and/or Mitsubishi.
• Field experience working onsite with customers/contractors.
• Flexibility for scheduling and travel.
• Tools provided.
• License and certification not required; however, strong electrical experience is necessary.
