Overview

We are currently searching for a Scientific Project Manager to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC, and it is on-site in Bethesda, MD

Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage execution of agreements with academic, nonprofit and industry partners through their lifecycle.
• Communicate federal statues and guidelines to external organizations to support compliance with agreement policy.
• Draft research plans for collaboration and other technology transfer agreements (e.g. Cooperative Research and Development Agreements, research collaboration agreements, clinical trial agreements, MTAs and CDAs) by collaborating with scientists.
• Communicate with clinical sites and external collaborators to supply and/or prepare necessary documents to provide clinical material.
• Prepare and submit gift documentation to facilitate receipt of external funds to support programs.
• Organize and track employee inventions, including initial invention submissions and responses.
• Capture employee inventions to document contributions to intellectual property filed by external organizations.
• Create portfolio reviews, including but not limited to agreements and patent applications to discuss with investigators to capture their program goals and priorities.
• Prepare presentation materials containing programmatic and individual investigator portfolio analysis of agreements, patents, and licenses for senior management review.
• Research new technologies for evaluation for strategic planning and development.
• Perform quality control testing and analysis of new systems for streamlining active processes for agreement review.
• Prepare international export permits for controlled materials.

Requirements

• B.S. degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree in bioengineering, the biological sciences and/or biotechnology, highly preferred.
• Minimum, two (2) years of experience working directly in laboratory research in the biological sciences.
• Minimum, one (1) year of experience, managing/drafting agreements and patent portfolios for an HHS program and registering employee invention reports in compliance with federal template standards.
• Experience in writing scientific experimental plans.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in evaluating metrics and preparing presentations.
• Experience with processing gifts.
