Dovel Technologies, LLC is Hiring a Management Analyst Near Durham, NC

Overview

We are currently searching for a highly organized and analytical Management Analyst to assist Division staff and leadership in analyzing, evaluating, planning, and tracking a variety of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion activities. Supporting working groups focused on both internal culture as well as supporting grantee outreach and information management. Experience with organizing and analyzing DEI activities and resources, as well as experience managing, planning, and running meetings of varying types. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Durham, NC.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as administrative coordinator for DERT Diversity Equity and Inclusion working group (DEI WG) and subgroups.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan and carry out special studies and analyses of DEI activities.
  • Collect, read, interpret, analyze and condense material from a variety of sources and prepare reports of data analysis for presentation.
  • Coordinate outreach to HBCUs, other MSIs, Diversity Supplement Recipients, Trainees, and Fellowship Applicants.
  • Coordinate regular updates on Division-wide DEI activities to the DERT Monthly Report, DERT Newsletter, and DERT All Hands meetings.
  • Analyze information requirements to develop reporting systems including the systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology.
  • Facilitate business process improvement activities, to include documenting as-is processes, gathering to-be requirements and validating capture with staff.
  • Assist researching and preparing program and operational strategies and implementation plans.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of all facets of operations, document areas for improvement, research improvement methodologies and recommend course of action.
  • Track project progress and provide regular reports.
  • Analyze and evaluate proposed changes in operating procedures and draft standard operating procedure.
  • Conduct studies and assessment and report findings with recommendations.
  • Develop procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative controls and systems.
  • Document findings of studies and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures and organizational changes.
  • Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
  • Coordinate responses to data requests and initiatives, including Presidential Executive Orders, Environmental Justice/Environmental Health Disparities/Justice 40 activities, “MD715” reporting, and others.
  • Coordinate and serve as liaison for activities with broader NIEHS DEIA groups, such as the OSED.
  • Review operational and program plans to identify necessary resources and propose actions to address gaps.
  • Prepare detailed reports based on research and findings and present at meetings and briefings.
  • Conduct search for material for a specific programmatic need, using a database to search for material in many cases.
  • Create DEIA search criteria for programs and related information on the internet and other means, including literature and database searches.
  • Review business, operations and program plans for consistency and compliance with institutional and governmental policies.
  • Attend routine staff and business meetings for awareness and to take notes for distribution.
  • Assist staff prepare briefing and presentation materials for presentation at meetings.
  • Capture meeting minutes and prepare final documentation for distribution to participants.
  • Draft reports for review and discussion at working groups and meetings.
  • Present information and status updates on projects and studies ongoing within the organization.
  • Identify, assess, draft, edit, revise and assemble necessary background materials.
  • Work with staff to identify key issues and track action items and tasks, providing deadline reminders to DEIA WG and update and maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.
  • Draft, review and proofread DEIA documents, such as conference agendas, meeting agendas, letters to presenters, participant lists, handouts, emails, thank you letters and reports.
  • Maintain ongoing, proactive communication with key personnel throughout the initiative.
  • Prepare presentation materials such as handouts, meeting materials, slide presentations, and background/supplemental documents, spreadsheets, charts and graphs for conferences, committee, meetings, workshops and group updates.
  • Track action items and tasks, provide deadline reminders to DEIA WG; maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.
  • Work with staff to coordinate and plan DEIA meetings, including communications with distinguished lecturers, invited guests and participants, registration and meeting logistics.
  • Coordinate with project leaders on the logistics for in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Provide meeting coordination and support for technical assistance that DERT provides to grantees related to grant writing, training grants, and diversity supplements.
  • Assists operational and program staff identify, capture and evaluate unique performance criteria.
  • Work with staff on existing projects and/or the development, initiation and execution of new project initiatives.
  • Organize and maintain project documentation and communications; track project progress using project management tools.
  • Work with staff to assist and conduct management and administrative analysis; evaluate procedures, policies, processes and systems for the purpose of improving efficiency.
  • Conduct in-depth comparative analysis of organization against federal agencies and similar industry organizations to baseline performance and efficiency.
  • Assist program managers prepare annual budgets based on historical and estimated future spending.
  • Perform job task analysis documenting inventory of billets, knowledge, skills and abilities or the workforce and analyzing gaps.
  • Develop content for internal DERT Shared Resources related to DEI activities.
  • Assess Division DEI training needs.
  • Conduct a needs/readiness assessment related to DEIA issues to help us identify and procure trainings and track the outcomes and other facilitated conversations to the Division to address and/or meet these needs.
  • Provides analysis regarding management functions related to DEIA.
  • Monitor trends and research by management associations and academic institutions and develop job aids, instruction and other materials to support management analysts.
