Job Details

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for the placement and retrieval of stores merchandise in reserve storage locations and replenishes merchandise in pick lines using stand-up lift equipment or other equipment (i.e., sit-down lift) as directed by supervisor. May be assigned duties of corrugate baler operator.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates a stand-up lift to replenish merchandise in the order filling areas or to put away merchandise in storage areas.
  • Removes empty pallets from picklines and storage areas.
  • Picks up trash and trash bags, sweeps floor, and disposes of cardboard; straightens pallets and dusts racks as necessary.
  • Verifies inventory locations with radio frequency unit information.
  • May complete daily production log.
  • Meets and maintains safety, quality and productivity standards.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

• Ability to operate a stand-up lift.• Ability to operate assigned sit-down lift (corrugate function).• Ability to use hand held/lift-mounted radio frequency unit.• Basic math and reading skills.• Communication skills.• Competency to obtain a lift operator license.

EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience working in an automated distribution center preferred
  • Experience with warehouse management systems applications preferred
  • Experience in automated retail distribution center preferred.
  • Previous industrial equipment experience preferred.
  • Prior baler operation experience preferred (corrugate function)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Continuous lifting of merchandise up to 65 pounds on a regular basis, and occasional team lifting of merchandise up to 85lbs
  • Continuous walking, including long distances and up and down stairs
  • May work at heights up to 30 feet above ground
  • Standing, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and pushing and pulling using hands and/or arms on a repetitive basis above and below the shoulder level
  • May work continuously up to 12 hours
  • Exposure to extreme heat and cold conditions as well as dust and noise
