A bit about DML:

DML is a direct lender headquartered in Seattle, WA with millions available for originating business purpose loans on residential real estate. We lend nationwide but do most of our loans in WA and CA. We have funded loans in as fast as 2 business days and have a fast and efficient process. We have less than 50 employees and pride ourselves on being a fast-growing entrepreneurial company in a tired industry. We love to challenge the status quo and put people before numbers

The Responsibilities of the Role

DEVELOPMENT

  • Develop and maintain a strong and consistent book of business to close more than $1.5MM in loans each month.
  • Meet with loan applicants to identify their needs and collect information for loan applications.
  • Analyze active loan files on a regular basis and recommend solutions to speed up the loan process.
  • Explain to customers the different types of loans and options available, as well as the terms of those services.
  • Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services/products to better meet the customers needs.
  • Complete loan contracts and educate clients on policies and regulations.
  • Interview applicants to define financial eligibility 
  • Monitor and update account records 
  • Submit loan applications in a timely manner 
  • Prepare detailed loan proposals 
  • Reject loan applications and explain deficiencies to applicants 
  • Respond to applicants’ questions and resolve any loan-related issues 
  • Confer with the credit committee and operations team to aid in resolving mortgage application problems
  • Operate in compliance with laws and regulations 

ORIGINATIONS

  • Grow the originations business for the company in the private lending space through direct lending
    • Increase deal sources (manage and diversify)
    • Increase amount of loan applications
    • Increase number of deals closed
    • Increase total originations volume
  • Implement and leverage CRM tool
    • Recommend additional marketing activities to support the growth
    • Implement plan to stay connected with borrowers who have closed deals
      • Generate plan for generating referrals
    • Plan for continuous communication with deal sources
    • What’s the role of the CRM during the loan process?
  • Reviews:
    • Develop plan for asking for and generating customer reviews
      • Act on any feedback or praise appropriately
    • Plan for if we want multiple review sources (i.e., text survey)
  • Evaluate deal sources regularly and “prune” those who do not meet our pull through rate
  • Enhance the customer experience for borrowers
  • Increase the amount of loans that move from terms à closed (pull-through)

PRODUCTION

  • Produce at least $500k a month with no more than 2 deals per month
  • Operate as both an LO and transaction coordinator for all deals in the first 3 months
    • After 3 months, use transaction coordinator for all deals
  • Compensation for deals will be a combination of commissions percentage with an additional base salary per month.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Amount of originations
  • Number of deals closed
  • Number of new loan applications
  • Pull through rate (Terms à closed)
  • Number of new deal sources
  • Number of leads for new deal sources
  • Customer ratings / reviews
  • Employee satisfaction

FIRST 90 DAYS

  • Development:
    • Work with HR and manager:
      • Onboarding and system access
      • Training
    • Create a 90 day success track for yourself
      • This will include goals and milestones for your first 30 days, 60 days, and then 90 days
    • Set up meetings with your manager
    • Ensure that you as the loan officer:
      • Have a 90 day initial plan
      • Have a business plan to achieve production targets
      • Understand your targets, how to achieve them and you are on track
      • Develop a plan for the next 90 days and 180 days to achieve production targets.
    • Originations
      • Achieve at least 100% of the originations goal
      • Begin utilization of the CRM
    • Production
      • Close at least 3 deals
      • Become an expert on the product that is more knowledgeable than the team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess loan origination and loan officer experience
  • 2 years of private lending sales experience
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from start to finish
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of services and products
  • Knowledge of how to develop client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions
  • Understanding of how to position products against competitors
  • Excel in an entrepreneurial environment by driving action without being told what to do.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making, and communication skills in addition to time-management skills, analysis skills, interpersonal skills and being independently resourceful.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in banking, finance, business administration, or economics is preferred - equivalent experience accepted
  • Computer skills including MS office, Adobe, and CRM systems

Job Type: Full time

Work Location: Eastside of Seattle & Westlake Village (hybrid – remote & office 1-2 times per week)

Benefits: Flexible schedule, health benefits including medical, dental and vision.

Availability: Mon – Fri from 8:30 to 6:00 p.m.

Compensation: Commission Based Structure with an annual base salary (DOE)
