The Design team has an opening for a Interior Designer.

Location: Washington, D.C.

Position Summary

As an Interior Designer at DLR Group you will be working as part of integrated design teams responsible for the design and delivery processes aligned with client goals, budgets and schedule parameters. You will be responsible for collaborating on the design of complex projects from schematic design through construction administration on projects ranging in size and complexity. You will develop comprehensive project palettes of materials and finishes. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with clients, contractors, vendors and other DLR Group team members to outline and prepare specifications.

The successful candidate will

• Prepare and develop with the team, as required, drawings, models, images, material & mood boards and other documents relating to the design.
• Have strong client and time management skills.
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Take responsibility for the development of the design and the project with input from the Principal in Charge and/or the Design Leader for key project stages.
• Have strong creative design and drawing skills, graphic and oral design presentation skills, capacity for conceptual design thinking, and 3D design/modeling ability.
• Will gain thorough knowledge of and compliance with DLR Group standards.

Required Qualifications

• 0 - 5 years of experience designing commercial interior projects.
• At minimum, Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office suite.
• The ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks.
• Ability to work both independently and effectively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere and across multiple offices
• Ability to work in-office, in support of DLR Group's current hybrid-work policies. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with SketchUp and 3D Max/V-Ray.
• NCIDQ certification, or working towards NCIDQ certification.
• Have interest in sustainable building design.
