Overview

DLH is seeking a Network Engineer to provide network engineering and administration services for DLH’s datacenters and corporate offices. The incumbent is responsible for the engineering and maintenance of all DLH network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provides network engineering services for DLH datacenters and corporate offices.
• Performs administration, maintenance, and upgrades of network infrastructure equipment including firewalls, IDS/IPS firewalls, switches, wireless controllers, etc.
• Works with datacenter services team to perform architecture reviews and strategic planning.
• Performs monitoring of networks using various monitoring tools and applications.
• Produces network reports around performance and utilization.
• Ensures standards are maintained for network.
• Experience with researching, planning, and implementing network-based projects.
• Takes part in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer related field
• 5 years of relevant network engineering and administration experience, or a minimum of 12 years of experience without a degree.
• Must have experience with Juniper firewall equipment and configuration.
• Preferred experience with Cisco switches and Palto Alto equipment and configuration.
• In depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, layer 2/3 switching and routing.
• Experience with network security, preferably with federal information security compliance requirements.
• Experience with BGP implementation and operations.
• Professional networking certification such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
