Warehouse Supervisor (Hourly) - Philadelphia, PA (AVE) What part will you play? This position is responsible for the activities of the warehouse which may include the supervision and training of any permanent or temporary warehouse personnel.In addition to day-to-day warehouse responsibilities, the Warehouse Supervisor is accountable for the warehouse's inventory accuracy, organization and control of incoming shipments; and the timely, properly documented execution of outgoing shipments including RMAs. A service-oriented approach, proactively supporting local and global project teams with all warehouse activities is required as well as the ability to work well and collaborate with a variety of other departments and warehouses.What will you be doing? ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Supervision:Set priorities, work assignments and provide direction to warehouse clerks and temporary staff.Enforce and effectively communicate all company policies and procedures.Maintain a safe warehouse by driving safety compliance. Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.Maintain an on-going dialog with Project Managers, ensuring that work quality, performance, and response times meet required delivery schedules and expectationsMaintains physical condition of warehouse by implementing new design layouts approved by the Warehouse Manager; regularly inspect warehouse facility and equipment; and issue work orders for repair and/or requisitions for replacement of substandard warehouse conditions such as malfunctioning pallet jacks, loose shelving, trip hazards, etc.Train and develop Warehouse Clerks in an effort to contribute to employee growth and knowledge. Build and drive department teamwork and communication.Provide employee performance feedback to Regional Warehouse Manager for annual reviews or for any significant performance issues or procedure violations.Warehousing:Maintain a safe and clean warehouse facility: breakdown boxes and control waste; store shipping pallets and other warehouse materials and equipment; follow procedures and inventory control processes; comply with safety policies.Receive and unload equipment deliveries. Scan and electronically log all incoming packages/shipments and obtain signatures upon delivery. Separate materials and store according to warehouse layout and project specifications.Weigh, frank and label overnight express and freight parcels. Recommend cost-effective shipping procedures to staff members. Call for couriers in response to staff requests and notify staff when incoming courier correspondence is received.Assure that orders are shipped on a timely basis and in accordance with project specifications and Diversified shipping and inventory control procedures. Ensure all documentation and data entry is complete before releasing the shipment.Work with Inventory Control, Project, and Purchasing teams to process RMA shipments in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure proper documentation and procedures are followed.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Makes deliveries using company vehiclesHandles other duties relative to the job as assigned by the Regional Warehouse ManagerSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:This position may be responsible for the supervision of temporary and/or permanent warehouse clerks.What do we require from you?EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or equivalentRelevant warehouse, operations, and inventory management experience.Forklift operation experience a plusPossess good driving record, able to make deliveries using company vehicle when needed.Proficient in Microsoft Office a plusKnowledge of US Postal regulations, bulk mailings and business replies procedures and computer knowledge preferred.Inventory Control software experience preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Able to stand, kneel and crouch for long periods of timeAble to climb ladders and scaffolding.Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.Able to work in high places and in small cramped places.Able to work in hot humid places as well as cold places.
